3-9-16 European Motives for Exploration

Objective:
Today we looked at what motives Europeans had for exploration.

Agenda:

  • In class we began taking notes on European motivations for exploration. We also started preparing for a class discussion on whether or not Christopher Columbus realized or knew that he did not land in Asia. We did not finish preparing, and will do so during class.
  • We also worked in the computer lab to begin working on researching individual explorers. Each student selected a specific explorer.
HOMEWORK:

  1. Finish gathering information about your selected explorer. Complete your google slide via the assignment "3-9-16 European Explorer Assignment." This is due by tomorrow before class. Make sure you have turned it in.
  2. Study the notes on the motivations of European exploration. Feel free to go over the primary sources for the discussion tomorrow.
